Our mission

Acting for a healthy society free to be and to love!
Uniphare is a community organization based in Rimouski in the Lower St. Lawrence region, which has been in existence since 1994. Formerly known as MAINS BSL, the organization's mission is to support, inform, raise awareness, and intervene in prevention and harm reduction.

Uniphare's clientele is made up of a diversity of communities: 2SLGBTQIA+ people, sex workers, and drug users. We serve the 8 MRCs of Bas-Saint-Laurent: Kamouraska, Témiscouata, Rivière-Du-Loup, Les Basques, Rimouski-Neigette, La Mitis, La Matapédia, and  La Matanie.
